About the Program
The "Logged In For Safety" project will provide road safety education and practical skill development to local disadvantaged youth of Northbridge. Participants involved would not normally have access to a reliable vehicle and/or a supervisor to complete the mandatory 25 hours of supervised driving to attain their driver's license and as a result will be able to gain independence whilst also becoming safe road users.

About the Program
This project consists of a two stream Road Safety Program:
1. Educate children - about age-appropriate road-safety skills via experiential learning. The staff/educators will focus on play using an outdoor "road" and road safety themed toys.
2. Inform and provide parents/carers with strategies - that address child-related road dangers (e.g driveway safety) via a yearly information night with guest speakers, parent/carer information packs, car restraint checking day and monthly newsletter updates.

About the Program
The Shire of Northam Bike Safe program will bring together young people at the PCYC to participate in activities designed to increase their bicycle maintenance skills, ensuring their bikes are roadworthy and in good condition. Educational activities will inform participants of the road rules applicable to cyclists, along with the penalties that may be imposed for non-compliance. The aim of the project is to Increase awareness of road safety issues, including sharing roads and paths, signalling and pedestrian safety.
